The Center for sustainable development (CSD) is a Bangalore based non-profit, non-governmental organization, committed to improving the quality of human life in India. It was registered in 2003 under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act. CSD programmes are designed to enhance the prospects for conservation by working mutually with civil society, local communities, and policy makers and scientists, academicians and researchers. CSD works in close association with Government agencies, scientific institutes and civil society organizations.

CSD's strength lies in its ability to integrate these societal stakeholders through coherent programmes in order to generate and disseminate innovative ideas and knowledge information in solving various environmental problems. Our primary focus is to develop sustainable development practices in the world through proper environmental planning and management.
